Located on JuLu Road, a venue of the French Concession, Lost Bakery sits on the center of the city of Shanghai. As the phoenix tree leaves dance and whirl along with the chill breeze, Lost Bakery quietly radiates her warmth and sweet aroma in the air.
Walking into the symmetrical architecture, her interiors are the smooth and cohesive marriage of modern design and the materials of old, recycled wood from the old lane on the French Concession.
Known as a “Salon de the a la Française”, French style bakery and coffee shop, Lost Bakery combines the old-fashioned French rye bread, such as the “Tourte de Meule” along with the traditional Baguette. The traditional Baguette is made with sour dough and takes a 48 hour fermentation before going in to the oven.
For the sweet toothed, we’ll have a way to your heart with our Chocolate Caramel Bar, Parisian Flan and Strawberry Cake. Our most beloved Strawberry Cake comes out only during strawberry season, as we believe it is the only and best time to serve our customers this sweet delight.
The famous American filmmaker, David Lynch once said, “even a bad cup of coffee is better than no coffee at all”. With our own blend of three different coffee beans each imported from Guatemala, Ethiopia and Kenya, our coffee is way beyond “good coffee”.
